The whole tour covers a swoop to the Chandrashila Peak, passing by the enchanting Deoriatal lake side, and opens up a gallery of stunning snow peaks all the way. This 5-day plan is unmatched in nature’s beauty, exhilarating challenges, time-efficiency and convenience.

Short Itinerary

Day 1- Drive Haridwar-Sari - 190 km | 6600 ft

Day 2- Trek to Deoriatal - 3 km | 7800 ft

Day 3- Deoriatal to Baniyakund through Rohini Bugyal - 16 km | 8700 ft

Day 4- Baniyakund to Tungnath, Chandrashilla Summit and back to Baniyakund - 3 km | 13100 ft

Day 5- Tali forest camp - Joshimath via Gurson bugyal (11150 ft) and Auli (9680 ft) - 8 km | 11150 ft

Detail Itinerary

Day 1

Drive Haridwar-Sari - 190 km | 6600 ft

Pick Up Point- Haridwar Railway Station. Pick Up Time- 6:00 am, Distance- 190 km, Driving Time- 7 hour, Altitude- 6,600 ft, Network Availability- Available till Sari.

Duration:3 hours

Day 2

Trek to Deoriatal - 3 km | 7800 ft

Distance- 3 km. Trekking Time- 1 hour, Altitude- 7,800 ft. Water source-None.

Duration: 3 hours

Day 3

Day- Deoriatal to Baniyakund through Rohini Bugyal - 16 km | 8700 ft

Trekking Time- 7-8 hours, Altitude at Chopta-8,700 ft, Water source- A ground water source before entering Rohini Bugyal. Waterfalls on the second half of the trail.

Duration: 3 hours

Day 4

Baniyakund to Tungnath, Chandrashilla Summit and back to Baniyakund - 3 km | 13100 ft

Buniyakund to Chopta (Drive 3km). Chopta to Tungnath, Chandrashilla Summit and back (Trek 8km) Trekking Time- 7-8 hour. Altitude- 13,100 ft. Water Source- None. View: Mountains of Garhwal and Kumaon- Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nandaghunti, Kamet, Dronagiri, Chaukhamba, Kedar dome, Thalaysagar, Gangotri ranges, Jahanukut etc.

Day 5

Tali forest camp - Joshimath via Gurson bugyal (11150 ft) and Auli (9680 ft) - 8 km | 11150 ft

Tali forest camp to Tali lake (111480 ft) (1 km trek). Tali lake to Gurson bugyal (11150 ft) (3.5 km trek), Gurson bugyal to Auli (9680 ft) (3.5 km trek), Auli to Joshimath (6724 ft) (13 km drive), Breakfast at Tali camp site, Lunch Pack on the way, Joshimath (evening tea, debriefing, dinner).

  1. This was my 2nd experience with them. It was educational, benefitial, reflective, fun, interesting, friendly, disciplined .. Considering the fact that it was in the remote hills, yet The Mountain Trekker provided such splendid facilities, I'll add luxurious.
